Ichigo Kurosaki (黒 崎 一 護, Kurosaki Ichigo) is a Human who has Shinigami powers. He is also a Substitute Shinigami. Ichigo is the son of Isshin and Masaki Kurosaki, and the eldest brother of Karin and Yuzu.
The most striking thing about Ichigo Kurosaki is his orange hair and spiky hair, because of that orange hair he is also often teased. He was a tall, young man with light skin and brown eyes. He often wears regular shirts and sometimes wears a shirt with the number 15 pattern because his name in Japanese means 15. Since becoming a Shinigami, his body has become more muscular. When he became a Shinigami, Ichigo wore the standard Shinigami outfit, with an extra strap on his chest. Initially, it was a thick brown belt to hold the Zanpakutō’s sheath, but later became a rosary like a red string. Ichigo’s appearance has caused several people, including Jūshirō Ukitake, to say that he bears a resemblance to Kaien Shiba, a former lieutenant of the 13th Division. After training at the Dangai, Ichigo Kurosaki hair grows long, and he feels taller, as stated by friends. After Ichigo lost his Shinigami powers, his appearance returned to what it was before training at the Dangai.
17 months after defeating Aizen, Ichigo Kurosaki overall appearance hasn’t changed much, he only gets taller. After regaining his strength, Ichigo Kurosaki appearance as a Shinigami has an outfit consisting of thick ropes across his chest. He has four black vertical stripes on his forearms and a high protective collar around his neck.
Personality of Ichigo Kurosaki
When he was young, Ichigo Kurosaki considered his mother to be the center of his world, he always smiled when he was with Masaki and always held his hand. Although he cries every time he loses a match at the dojo he attends, Ichigo Kurosaki starts to smile again as soon as he sees Masaki coming to pick him up. At a very young age, Ichigo heard his father say his name means “to protect something”, which instilled in him a desire to protect his mother. When his sisters were born, he started joining the dojo to protect them. Since then, the number of people he wants to protect has continued to grow, causing Ichigo Kurosaki to risk his life to protect those close to him as well as strangers.
As a teenager, Ichigo was stubborn, quick-tempered, strong-willed, and spontaneous. Although admitting that she doesn’t care what people think of her, she tries to hold on to her “cool” look. He usually makes his face slightly frown, with his eyebrows pulled together. His blunt tone, stubbornness are traits Ichigo himself admits, and if someone wants to fight with him, he doesn’t want to fight back. He coldly referred to his teacher as “instructor”. She is genuinely loving and empathetic towards others, promising to bring a Plus flower and a toy plane, or comforting others when they get angry.
Ichigo is a pretty smart student, he is a student ranked 23rd in his school, who studies regularly and does not neglect his schoolwork. He worked as hard as he did to solve the misconceptions many people had about him for his hair color and his fighting style. Ichigo hates divination, horoscopes, feng shui, psychics, and anyone who tries to engage and take money from people for things they cannot see. He has difficulty remembering people’s faces and names. Ichigo becomes very shy and uncomfortable around women who are naked or dressed immodestly, in fact, it was Yoruichi Shihōin and Rangiku Matsumoto who had teased him. Ichigo is often disrespectful when talking to people older than himself, calling Genryūsai Shigekuni Yamamoto “grandfather” and referring to several Shinigami captains by their names without the use of honorifics.
When it comes to combat, Ichigo has a complex sense of honor; he usually sought revenge for his opponent’s cruel actions, such as instilling a fear of killing Shrieker and cutting off Yammy Llargo’s right arm in retaliation for tearing off Yasutora Sado’s right arm. He often taunts and harasses his opponents in battle, sometimes attacking without warning. Ichigo has a strong desire to win his fight but uses what he sees as legitimate means. To this end, he often refuses the Hollow’s help within him, even when knowing it will allow him to win. Ichigo’s determination to fight can waver at once, which can hinder his fighting courage, and enter into a state of depression and hatred.
